I have been Singing and teaching Voice Lessons for 30 years. I hold Bachelor and Masters of Music degrees in Voice Performance from the University of Washington in Seattle. I have sung opera, oratorio, Gilbert and Sullivan and early music in Seattle, Germany and Arkansas. Currently I am an adjunct music instructor at Northwest University, the Bellevue School of Music, and the Gene Nastri Community School of the Arts.
In the lesson, I work to develop breath support, an open throat, expansion of the range, correct pronunciation of vowels and consonants, and to overcome stage fright. To achieve these goals, I use a variety of materials, including folk songs, musical theatre and classical repertoire. I believe in a positive, constructive and affirming style of teaching, and I work with all levels. I teach ages 9 through adult. I am continuing to build both a performing and teaching career, and I would love to work with you!
